She also coauthored the essay "The Allure of the Serial Killer," published in Serial Killers - Philosophy for Everyone: Being and Killing (Wiley-Blackwell, 2010).

She divides her free time unequally between writing novels and short stories, chainsawing firewood, caring for stray animals of all species, sewing cat and dog beds for donation to animal shelters, and target practice.

An inferno brought them back together. But can fate re-ignite the spark they thought was lost forever?

Biography

Love Weavers by Katie Stephens
Connected by nearly five hundred years of blood and art, two witches tempt fate when they create love spells. Hannah and Wynter have two things in common: an incredible artistic talent and witchcraft. In order to acquire Wynter’s jewelry-making secrets, Hannah finds a way to travel across time and meet her ancestor. However, her novice powers simply amuse Wynter, who is embroiled in a love triangle and has no time for the young witch. When an enchanted necklace disappears, can the two work together or must their men take matters into their own hands?

Biography
If you discovered a sealed box with "Katie's memories" scribbled on the side, you'd find a lifetime of partially completed stories, plays and musicals. Katie Stephens has opened that box and writes both non-fiction and fiction, where she happily experiments with all genres. Although her grown children are scattered east and west across the country, she lives solidly in mid-America with two kitties and a husband who keeps asking when she's really going to retire.

January 4, 2015

First, I truly appreciate all your interest in my work, and your support since I began professionally writing in 2011. It's meant a lot to me to be able to share my stories and series novels with people who really cared about my characters as much as I cared about them. In 2015 and going onward, the Promise Me Series will be the only writing project that I will remain working on. Those books will continue to publish until the end of the series in very late 2016-2017. My "real life" job must be my priority for financial reasons, and I'm unable to balance that and my other responsibilities with my writing/promoting, so something had to give.

I will not be on Facebook much, or online for the foreseeable future. But I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have via the Goodreads Ask the Author function on my homepage here at Goodreads. Tempest of Vengeance, Promise Me #11, will be out sometime end of February.
Again, thank you all for all you've done to support me. I am and remain SO grateful to be able to share my stories with you :)

December 13, 2014

This Thanksgiving morning, I was awakened by the plaintive meow of my cat Jessica at 4am, loudly complaining that the woodfire had burned down and needed refilling. Jessica loves heat in all forms. She even possesses several plush heated beds. Yet the heat from the woodstove in winter remains one of the great joys of her life.
Dutifully, I got out of my warm bed, refilled the woodstove with several logs, patted Jessica on the head, and went back to bed. Then I lay there awake until I grabbed my laptop and began typing, haunted by the knowledge that the “cat alarm” I have had the last 14 years will soon cease. For Jessica will likely never see another Thanksgiving; she was diagnosed just this week with an aggressive cancer, and our remaining time together is limited.
Like so many of us, I usually rush through daily life at full speed, losing days and sometimes weeks to the madness of my list of “action items” and “to-do lists.” And then there are moments like these, where that frantic yet unmeaningful race becomes the background noise that in truth it always was, letting you know what you truly value and what’s unimportant. Jessica is important to me; and making whatever time she las left enjoyable for her is a priority. I will miss my little screaming alarm clock, my writing partner, my purring friend who made all the sick days of my working career more fun by her constant presence at my side. This tiny 7lb black and white cat will leave a huge gaping hole in my life when she leaves.
I anticipate a lot more 4 am early mornings this winter season. The new difference is that I will be grateful to hear Jessica’s call to get up from now on, until the last day it sounds.
