I’m originally from Woodstock, Ga; north of Atlanta. I’m a huge Braves and Georgia Tech fan. I’ve lived in Oregon for the past 5+ years and recently moved back to North Georgia after spending the past 12 years all over the country. I love the Trailblazers as well as Oregon State, where I will graduate with a B.A. in English in June 2014. I’ve been married for 10 years and we have 4 beautiful children together, aged 3-9.

I graduated from a Bible college in 2003 and that is where I met my wife. I spent 7 y...more

Compelling mystery with plenty of twists. This was an enjoyable book that read quickly too. If you like crime novels, you'll like this book.

"I'm familiar with the Diamond Sutra, but this wasn't my favorite translation. It is confusing and there are lengthy descriptions that don't really help. "

I read this for a Philosophy class at Oregon State and it was interesting. Much of it was confusing and seemed to contradict itself, but I've read that it takes time to really sink in. That being said, it's worth reading for sure.

“I’m sure I am wrong about many things, although I’m not sure exactly which things I’m wrong about. I’m even sure I’m wrong about what I think I’m right about in at least some cases.”
Brian D. McLaren, A Generous Orthodoxy

Alfred Tennyson
“Be near me when my light is low,
When the blood creeps, and the nerves prick
And tingle; and the heart is sick,
And all the wheels of Being slow.

Be near me when the sensuous frame
Is rack'd with pangs that conquer trust;
And Time, a maniac scattering dust,
And Life, a fury slinging flame.

Be near me when my faith is dry,
And men the flies of latter spring,
That lay their eggs, and sting and sing
And weave their petty cells and die.

Be near me when I fade away,
To point the term of human strife,
And on the low dark verge of life
The twilight of eternal day.”
Alfred Tennyson, In Memoriam

Joyce Carol Oates
“I never change, I simply become more myself.”
Joyce Carol Oates, Solstice
