About this author

M J Webb is a loving father of two and husband to one. He lives and works in the heart of England. A short while after the birth of his two children he found himself wanting to do something for them. He wanted to give them something they would always have, something from him that they could hopefully be proud of.
The Jake West trilogy was the result.

However, what little free time I do have is spent writing because it is pure stress relief and escapism; on that page I can create whatever I want to create, be whoever I want to be...
I love the freedom to explore my own imagination at will, and very often I'm surprised, delighted and amazed by what I find. My writing is for me and my children, but occasionally somebody somewhere writes a review, or contacts me to tell me they enjoyed my novel, and that is like gold dust. It's like scoring the winning goal in the cup final and it never gets old.

Great read. Well written, engaging, enlightening... A really good start to the trilogy and whilst I'm not fond of us English being the enemy, I'll definitely be reading more.

Enlightening but not all that exciting and very similar to Sharpe, this novel was okay for me but I've read better recently and I'm not certain I'll pick up the next in the series unfortunately.

M.J. Webb Hi,

It's received 44 reviews and it's averaging 4.7 out of 5. I think it's a great story, technically imperfect but everyone has enjoyed it so far. :-)

If you read it please review it or mention it on here.

Thanks very much and best wishes

Chris Parker Reading the keeper of the stones at the moment and really enjoying it. Definitely worth a look. Far better than a lot of traditionally-published books - a real find.

Thanks Lucinda - My books were penned for my children but seem to be doing rather well, though I am struggling to crack Goodreads/entice readers at present. I do hope you try them and let me know what you think but either way thanks for the friendship and look forward to your insights/views. I'm branching out so to speak at present, reading books I would not normally read, a product of having more time on my hands at last now that the trilogy is complete. @:-)

Cecilia Robert Hi M.J.

Lily,
Apologies for not replying before but I have only just seen your post. Have to say that's one of the best blogs I have seen ! Bright, colourful, great content. I look forward to reading your reviews. Complete honesty is a must. Though it sometimes hurts to receive a bad review, it's a necessary part of growth. The only issue I have is when there are errors in the review, or when the reviewer has failed to allow for the intended audience. However, even then, the author must refrain from commenting (as I have just found out to my cost).
Off now to read some of your reviews. If you feel you would like to read my books, and read electronically, I could send you a pdf file or two. pms me if so. 18,000 downloads to date but unable to crack this site. I think it's because my books are aimed specifically at teenagers and there aren't that many on here ? Take care.
