About this author

For Brian Holers, life is a gift that plays out with unbearable sweetness. Inherently drawn to the opportunities all around him, Brian has forged his own way. An arborist by day and a novelist in every moment he can steal, his head is filled with stories which can’t be contained. Be it writing, blogging or ranting to friends, his voice is passionate and compelling.

Brian’s debut novel, Doxology, is a tale about a man with a violent and haunting past. Doxology is full of real, sympathetic characters who struggle but still believe in God. Raised Christian, Brian now lives in a Jewish home and pulls on a faith beyond denomination to instil his books with a universal message of hope and redemption.

Currently, Brian lives in Seattle Washington wit...more

Medieval romance is not my usual fare, but I loved this book and can't wait to get to the other two--she does such a great job of making the world of 500 years ago seem real.

Swan Peak by James Lee Burke
I love the way Mr. Burke tells stories of incomprehensibly evil people, and like many of his books, this one kept building and building. Unfortunately I felt like he gave it up a bit at the end in how he dealt with the man bad guy, which I hate to sa...more

Totally believable characters--great depiction of the ways family stresses work their ways into the children. Ultimately uplifting, which is great, I do love a meaningful ending.

More of Brian's books…
“Which meant it was time for the centerpiece of the celebration, the reason they were all gathered on Saturday, the weekly episode of what, as far as many of the Davidsons including Jody were concerned was the greatest television show ever made. Hee Haw. While Roy and Buck sang the opening song, everyone would bicker and talk back and forth, what was better about the show, the music or the humor, what have you, the natural result of 40 people crowded around one rabbit eared television set. But once Hee Haw started, the talking was over. After that, it was all about the love. And so was everything before, really.”
