about this author
I am the editor of Zona Rosa Books, an imprint founded by my friend and mentor, the nationally-acclaimed author Rosemary Daniell. This year, the imprint announced its debut: 93-year-old Maggie Hunt-Cohn’s evocative poetry collection, A HEAVEN OF FLOWERS.
I hold both an M.F.A. in poetry and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in literature and women’s studies and have agent representation for HALLEY'S CONFIDENCE, a comic novel about a woman dating HIMS (Highly Inappropriate Men).
My work has appeared in Kalliope, Pearl Magazine, Hurricane Review and DESIRE: WOMEN WRITE ABOUT WANTING (Seal Press). Awards include residencies at the Hambidge Center and Dairy Hollow and participation in the University of Arizona’s poets-in-residence program.
This summer, I visited Portugal for Dzanc Books’ International Literary Program as a scholarship recipient in the fiction workshop series. My winning entry, “Krishna’s Cat,” is excerpted from COCONUT MILK, a novel about an American woman’s adventures when she travels 3,000 miles from home to meet her boyfriend’s Indian family in Malaysia.
