About this author

Elizabeth Hunter is a contemporary fantasy and romance author. She is a graduate of the University of Houston Honors College in the Department of English (Linguistics) and a former English teacher.

She currently lives in Central California with a seven-year-old ninja who claims to be her child. She enjoys reading, writing, travel, and bowling (despite the fact that she’s not very good at it.) Someday, she plans to learn how to scuba dive. And maybe hang glide. But that looks like a lot of running.

She is the author of the Elemental Mysteries and Elemental World series, the Cambio Springs series, and other works of fiction.

It’s been a while since I updated the blog and that’s because I was in hermit mode finishing the first draft of DESERT BOUND, the next Cambio Springs book. And I’m happy to report that it’s DONE! Whoohoo! That’s right. Alex and Tea’s story is done, except for the revising and editing and proofreading… So […] Read more of this blog post »

“Far be it from me to keep a woman from her book. That could become dangerous”
Elizabeth Hunter, A Hidden Fire

“And I also believe that love can work miracles."

"Love?" She cocked an eyebrow at him. "What about friendship? Can that work miracles, too?"

Carwyn rolled his eyes. "Silly B, love is friendship...just with less clothes, which makes it far more brilliant.”
Elizabeth Hunter, A Hidden Fire

“So, the wooden stake through the heart thing is apparently a myth, but you can be killed by fire. Anything else?"

"Should I be concerned that one of your first questions is how to kill me?"

Her jaw dropped. "What? No! I didn't mean... I was just curious."

He snorted. "Well you can remain so."

"What about the sun?" she asked. "Extra toasty?"

"I'm not going to burst into flames, but I avoid tanning beds."

"Silver?"

"Some of my favorite cufflinks."

"Garlic?"

"Please," he sneered. "I'm Italian.”

“You can make anything by writing.”
C.S. Lewis

“It had been startling and disappointing to me to find out that story books had been written by people, that books were not natural wonders, coming up of themselves like grass.”
Eudora Welty

“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.”
Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums

“Anything that comes out of the South is going to be called grotesque by the northern reader, unless it is grotesque, in which case it is going to be called realistic.”
Flannery O'Connor, Mystery and Manners: Occasional Prose

“Long before I wrote stories, I listened for stories. Listening for them is something more acute than listening to them. I suppose it’s an early form of participation in what goes on. Listening children know stories are there. When their elders sit and begin, children are just waiting and hoping for one to come out, like a mouse from its hole.”
Eudora Welty, One Writer's Beginnings (William E.Massey Senior Lectures in the History of American Civilization)

Elizabeth Hunter That's like a Christmas miracle, Galla! Ha! Yeah, I would think it would be up by tomorrow, but it might not be till Tuesday. Thanks for asking!

Galla Okay! I'll just check back in a few days, then. I hear you on the cable guy, though we did actually have a Comcast tech come out on Friday, and he was on time and super-competent. I never thought I'd see the day! :P

Elizabeth Hunter It's posted, but still processing through the system. I know it's up at Barnes and Noble, but Amazon is unpredictable. Sorry! This is why I post a few days before the official release. They tell you it will be anywhere from 24-72 hours before it's up. It think that's worse than the cable guy....

Galla Hey E, is This Same Earth available for purchase yet? I just tried to find it on Amazon, but it doesn't seem to be there.
