The Torchwood team and Martha face danger at CERN in this special BBC radio episode, starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd and Freema Agyeman. Following the tragic deaths of two of their colleagues, only Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones remain of Torchwood, protecting humanity against the unknown. Martha Jones, ex-time traveler and now working as a doctor for UNIT, has been called to CERN - the world's largest particle physics laboratory in Geneva. They're about to activate the Large Hadron Collider, designed to recreate conditions after the Big Bang and thus give an insight into what the Universe is made of. But so much could go wrong: it could open a gateway to a parallel dimension, or even create a black hole.Voices from the past are calling out to people from the LHC, and scientists have started to disappear. Where have they gone? What is lurking in the underground tunnel - and do the dead ever really stay dead?

This is an important, very readable, timely contribution which tackles the problem of suffering. How is it that God's almightiness does not prevent or interfere with areas of pain, into which we would act if we had the ability? Does a loving God really care or is he not almighty? Both non-believers and Christians will find this book rewarding. The large number of anecdotes, pithy sayings and quotations make this book a delightful read. Dr Critchlow has had a long career in applying truth, thoughtfully, to himself and to large numbers of needy and hurting people, people who need the love which he manifests as well as the empathy he is able to sensitively exude in opening up the mysteries of the human heart. I'm pleased and honoured to commend this book. From the foreword by Roger Forster. Stephen Critchlow is a consultant psychiatrist. He qualified from Cambridge University in 1976 having completed his clinical studies in King's College Hospital, London. After qualifying he worked in the London area before marrying Ros and moving to Galway, Ireland. In 1983, whilst still working in medicine, he was invited to lead a congregation in London which was part of the Ichthus Christian Fellowship. During his time in London he commenced training in psychiatry at St. Bartholomew's Hospital and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He moved to Limassol, Cyprus in January 1990 with his wife and five young children. Here he led several churches before moving to Northern Ireland in 1996. In 2006 he joined Operation Mobilisation to direct the work of 'Lifehope' in the West Midlands. He desires above everything else to see people follow Christ and he enjoys being involved in mission.
