Joe McKinney has been a patrol officer for the San Antonio Police Department, a homicide detective, a disaster mitigation specialist, a patrol commander, and a successful novelist. His books include the four part Dead World series, Quarantined and Dodging Bullets. For me, the thrill has always been in storytelling. I was doing this gig for free long before people started buying my books, and I'll be doing it long after people stop paying for my books. The stories just have to come out. That's what I do, and why I love being a writer.(less)

Every time I turn in a manuscript, a zombie one, anyway, the guys in Sales get together with my editor and we bounce titles off each other. The Sales guys like to see Dead in the title somewhere because they want people to know right away that it's a zombie book.(less)
