“[T.J.] I pulled my arms out from underneath her body and tucked her hair behind her ears. “I love you, Anna.”
The surprised look on her face told me she hadn’t seen that coming.
“You weren’t supposed to fall in love,” she whispered.
“Well, I did,” I said, looking into her eyes. “I’ve been in love with you for months. I’m telling you now because I think you love me too, Anna. You just don’t think you’re supposed to. You’ll tell me when you’re ready. I can wait.” I pulled her mouth down to mine and kissed her and when it ended, I smiled and said, “Happy birthday.”

Hi Diane,
Well, I love the desert island premise and when I watched the movie Castaway I felt bad for Tom Hanks. The only thing he had to bond with was a volleyball. I knew if I wrote a desert island book I'd want to put two people on the island. The more I thought about it, the more I knew it would have to be two people who shouldn't be together (to make it more interesting).
I've never been stranded on an island (I'm not even much of a camper, to be honest). But once I started writing the book my imagination really let loose. Anna and T.J.'s love story evolved as slowly in my mind as it did on the island.

Hi Tracey! I’ve been really hooked in reading on the island. However, I just want to ask you a few questions that keep barging me.How did you come up with that very good story? I mean did you ever imagined yourself being trapped on secluded island with some hot guy? Or did you experienced being on secluded island alone?
‘Coz after reading this book, I felt being trapped in that island too. I always wondering if someday I’ll experience it, can I also survive?

"Movie vater" cracked me up! My kids want to see Chipwrecked so I'll have to take them soon (I do love a good desert island movie, you know). If you're ever bored you should google the Maldives. The images are beautiful (my book cover is an actual island in the Maldives). It's all white sand and blue water there. I am glad you think the book will stay with you. That makes me smile!
Tracey, I thought of you and your book today at a completely irrational time... while at the "movie vater" as my 4yr old calls it watching Chipwrecked! Of course... it had nothing in common but it gave me some visuals at the same time of the way that the island may have looked. I have a feeling that this is one of those books that will pop up randomly and stay with me for a long time~
