| This book began slowly for me and was hard to get into. The sisters, Mary and Kate, while distinct and unique, did not really come alive for me in the first half of the book. By the second half, I became really drawn to the story. Though some readers...more | |

| Fabulous book! Jacqueline Woodson is an amazing writer. This is not just a book about meth addiction. This is not just a book about the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. The author combines them both with breathtaking writing. I highly recommend it! | |

| This book had a feel of realness to it, though it obviously could never be real as London cannot remember one day to the next, but she "remembers" the future. There are some nice twists when London discovers her remembering isn't quite as cut and dri...more | |

| I'll admit right up front I didn't finish this book. I was afraid if I had to witness Stevie and Susan Carol get introduced to one more person, my head would explode. The book got off to a very slow start, and it was made even worse by extraneous det...more | |

“I keep thinking about this river somewhere, with the water moving really fast. And these two people in the water, trying to hold onto each other, holding on as hard as they can, but in the end it's just too much. The current's too strong. They've got to let go, drift apart. That's how it is with us. It's a shame, Kath, because we've loved each other all our lives. But in the end, we can't stay together forever.”

Hi Matt,I noticed you have read:
The Battle of Lake Erie (North Star Book)
by F. van Wyck Mason
I was told it was a book for children published in 1960.
Do you remember much about it?
I am a children's author writing a book on this topic and trying to find out what other books have been written prior to this. I have only been able to find this one written specifically for children, though at 180-pages, I'm assuming it is for older children. I have not seen the book myself.
Thank you.
Mary
