I hope you enjoy my books and I'd love to hear from you here or on Facebook

I've been asked why I write. I write because I remember.

I remember waking up to snow. Great buckets of it poured from the gray skies and blanketing everything in quiet white. I remember racing to dress, struggling with my boots. "Here, don't forget your mittens." I remember the soft thump of that first footstep in the cold and virg

Dear Friend,

I wanted to be the first to tell you about my upcoming release from Atria Books. Falling For June is a stand-alone love story, and possibly my proudest literary accomplishment to date. Researching and writing this novel sent me and my trusty notebook halfway across the globe, including jumping out of airplanes in Spain, only to return home again to find my story's ending waiting for... State of Nature by Ryan Winfield
“Leaves will fall, cold will creep in
A circle of life that ends where it begins
It may take a thousand years and a thousand poems penned
But my hair will someday gray and my back will bend—
Then my shadow will join my body in the earth once again.

I know not the way, or even the when
Or who chooses that day we’re called away to ascend
But you bathed me in your bravery and forgave me my sins
You made a home in your heart for mine to live in—
And in return, my friend, this poem is my oath that a river of love will run through it until the very end.”

Hi Stephenie! I love that you felt such an intimate connection to Jane's Melody. I always feel like I've shared something very personal when I finish a story so to have you respond the way you did is an honor. I'm glad to see you're now reading Trevor's story. Say hello to him for me.

Good morning, Soraya. What a gorgeous note and review to wake up to. Thank you. I can't imagine a better compliment than to have earned your recommendation of Jane's Melody to your friends.

I love that you loved Bill. I never know where these characters come from and I smiled myself when he came onto the scene. He was just what Celeb (and I) needed at the moment.

I love your idea of Naomi Watts for Jane, and I just Googled Jensen Ackles and he would make a perfect Caleb. If Hollywood ever comes calling I'm sending them your way for casting.

It was fun to follow along with your reading progress and then see it culminate in such a thoughtful review. And I'm glad you enjoy talking with authors because the only thing I enjoy more than writing is talking to readers.

Ryan.

Good morning, Soraya! I loved writing that goat. Have you gotten to the part where they learn his name yet? You know I always have a tough time picking actors that could play my characters, probably because they become so real to me by the time I finish a book that I couldn't imagine anyone becoming them on screen. I'd love to hear your thoughts on casting.

Thanks for the note, Patricia. I'm glad we've both crossed our bridges along with Trevor. Jane's Melody, my latest release, also deals some with addiction, although it's a love story and is much more sexy and much less dark.

Patricia Finally finished reading South of Bixby Bridge. Took a while because the subject was too close to home sometimes. I have had a few siblings into drugs and some of the consequences. They are both doing okay and I think for the most part they are straight. Think being the operative word.
Thought the book was good and gives a different perspective to the life of an addict. Glad that he finally got to see what his life was and could be.
Thx for the good reads. You keep writing and I will keep reading :)

Hi Tina. How are you? Thanks for the link. Looks like a lengthy write-up and I'll try to read through it when I get time. I'm the wrong person to ask about publishing as I focus all my time on the craft of writing and what little is left I spend interacting with readers. I let the business people focus on the business.

Tina Hi Ryan - curious to know your input & perspective on self publishing compared to Tracey's. http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_... What say you my friend?

Wordsmith I am planning on re-reading South of Bixby Bridge, probably in June. As I told you before, the first time I read it, I was caught in some kind of insanity, reading a book a day! Although to be fair, on some of the better ones, I would slow it down to two. ; ) Anyway, I wish I had heeded your words and right then and there opened up my first Cormac McCarthy. What was I waiting for? Lord, what if I had died, lol, without having read his words! Ok, a little dramatic....maybe...maybe not. I can see now, how no other author can rise above Cormac McCarthy. (Except, maybe, possibly, kinda, sorta, the one I recommended to you? lol)

Looking forward to the outcome of your time in Hawaii. Have fun - as if you wouldn't. Enjoy your time with your lovely Fiance'.

Wordsmith I clicked on your video but I couldn't "see" your clip in here. I will have to take a cruise on over to FB to see it play. Of course I COULD vote yes, as that's the probable outcome anyway, but what the heck, maybe I just want to hear you read, lol.
