Some were fun, some were lame. The art varied from fantastic to uninspired. Still, it was interesting to flip through and several of the stories offered were quite imaginative retellings of traditional tales. I think I would have liked to see a few l...more

A very very pretty graphic novel, but the story was (even for a rehashing of several fairy tales) was pretty blase to me. Still, I'd read through it again, just for the beautiful art.

I set out to read this, but ended up just skimming through it. The writing style was less "human interest" and more "analytical" than I was hoping for. I'm really very interested in the hoarding disorder, but I wanted more insight into the people tha...more

Another great book from The Dresden Files.

It had some amazing scenes (I don't know how many folks have told me they'd love to see a DF movie just to see the last battle scene happening on screen!) and great character development. I'm re-reading the...more

Not a bad read if you enjoy non-fiction/memoir with a writing or food industry flavor. I really preferred the parts where he was discussing his experiences as a waiter, versus the parts where he was focusing on his blog or the process of becoming pub...more

The Road to Lisdoonvarna by Charles de Lint
My rating:
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing

No fantasy, which may be a disappointment to some of de Lint's fans, but the feel of the story was pure de Lint. Pulpy mystery, complete with bad guys, good dogs and a damsel in distress (or two).
Well worth the time.
