About this author

In the eighth grade, Cameron wrote her first romance novel on an antique typewriter, using a stack of pink paper. Detours between that draft and her publishing goals have included a BA in Music, a professional culinary education, and twelve years in the child-wrangling industry.

Cameron is an editor at www.writeonedge.com.

She lives outside of Boston with her family.

Zippy is our hummingbird. Well, insomuch as a hummingbird belongs to anyone. Zippy is the female hummingbird who, in the dog days of summer, finally discovered our optimistically hung feeder. The feeder, a gift from my mother-in-law, was filled and … Continue reading →

We shed as we pick up, like travellers who must carry everything in their arms, and what we let fall will be picked up by those behind. The procession is very long and life is very short. We die on the march. But there is nothing outside the march so nothing can be lost to it. The missing plays of Sophocles will turn up piece by piece, or be written again in another language. Ancient cures for diseases will reveal themselves once more. Mathematical discoveries glimpsed and lost to view will have their time again. You do not suppose, my lady, that if all of Archimedes had been hiding in the great library of Alexandria, we would be at a loss for a corkscrew?Tom Stoppard

I plowed through this book in a matter of two days, all pun intended, devoured Kimball's story of the unglamourous but purposeful life she chose. Her language is gorgeous, her memory both soft and unflinching, and I loved every word.

Love is ridiculous. But love is also wonderful. And powerful. And Despereaux's love for the Princess Pea would prove, in time, to be all of these things: powerful, wonderful, and ridiculous.Kate DiCamillo

An imaginative retelling with a plausibly non-magical explanation of the fairy tale elements. Elise is strong protagonist, and a fresh set of eyes to view the time-proven characters.

Lloyd Alexander, The Book of Three

Lloyd Alexander
“Most of us are called on to perform tasks far beyond what we can do. Our capabilities seldom match our aspirations, and we are often woefully unprepared. To this extent, we are all Assistant Pig-Keepers at heart.”
Lloyd Alexander, The Book of Three

Marilyn Monroe
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”

“As someone once said, SINCERITY is the single most important human characteristic. So once you can fake THAT, you're made.”

Stephen King
“The 3 types of terror: The Gross-out: the sight of a severed head tumbling down a flight of stairs, it's when the lights go out and something green and slimy splatters against your arm. The Horror: the unnatural, spiders the size of bears, the dead waking up and walking around, it's when the lights go out and something with claws grabs you by the arm. And the last and worse one: Terror, when you come home and notice everything you own had been taken away and replaced by an exact substitute. It's when the lights go out and you feel something behind you, you hear it, you feel its breath against your ear, but when you turn around, there's nothing there...”
