About this author

Chris Orcutt has written professionally for 20 years as a journalist, scriptwriter, playwright, web content author/editor and speechwriter.

His short fiction has been published in Potomac Review, the MOTA 3 Anthology and other literary journals. It has also won a few modest awards, most notably MOTA’s Emerging Writers and 55 Fiction’s World’s Shortest Stories. He has been published in magazines including Writer's Digest, and as a newspaper reporter he received a New York Press Association award.

Orcutt has also taught high school U.S. history and college English, earning Baruch College's Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Teaching. He lives in Upstate New York, in the same town as his fictional detective Dakota Stevens.
