about this author
I have been a writer since childhood. I can remember clacking away at an old typewriter in my mother's kitchen when I was thirteen or fourteen years old. Inspired by Tolkien, I wrote fantasy stories and still do to this day. I loved the faraway worlds, imaginary creatures and peoples of different races that worked together to take on an evil foe. These are the same elements that I have tried to include in my fantasy series, In the Shadow of the Black Sun. The first in the series, A Dream of Storms was published in 2011 and its sequel, Shards of S'Darin will be published in early 2012.
I am also an artist and musician, focusing mainly on guitar. I cannot write while listening to music, however, the melody and harmonies being too easily distracting and pulling me away from the story.
I believe that whatever the genre, emotion is the most important factor in a story. The relationships between the characters, be they questing to destroy the dragon or rocketing through a sparkling nebulae on their mission to Xenorien 7, are what drive a story and make the reader care.
If you journey through my books, I hope you find great enjoyment there in characters that you feel for and villains that you despise. I welcome any comments. Thank you.
William
