SOME DIRT ON PAIGE:

Born and raised in Plymouth Meeting, a small town west of Philadelphia, Paige Dearth was a victim of child rape and spent her early years yearning for a better life. To escape the unwanted attentions of her molester, a pedophile uncle who lived with the family, she married at the age of nineteen and moved with her new husband to Chula Vista, California. After two years of marriage during which she struggled to make ends meet, she became pregnant, only to discover that her husband was a heroin addict. Paige waited for the birth of her daughter and when the baby was just eight months old, moved back to Pennsylvania. With no formal education or money to f

Believe Like A Child (Sample first eleven pages) (Literature & Fiction)
1 chapters   —   updated Feb 26, 2012 04:26AM
Description: Kindle or paperback editions: http://www.amazon.com/Believe-Like-Child-Paige-Dearth/dp/1461105676/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1309425438&sr=8-1 Fiction never seemed so real. Alessa, a seven year old girl is raped in her home for nine years until she seeks refuge in the streets of Philadelphia. Alone at the age of sixteen in North Philadelphia, she encounters more human predators who want to take over her life. Alessa manages to break away from her new tormentors and flees to a shelter for homeless women. Wherever she goes, however, trouble keeps seeking her out, until she meets three people who change the course of her life forever. But as she begins to settle down, a ghost from the past comes to haunt her again. While the subject matter is harsh, the novel is written so that readers can enjoy a fast paced suspenseful thriller. Strap in for a ride you will never forget.

“JUST LISTEN

“When your mind is quiet and you listen closely, you will hear the children weeping silently. If you can’t quite hear their cries, then listen with your eyes. These are the children of the streets, who have learned pain and suffering before they ever had a chance to experience life. Do not ignore their cries for help, for all they wish is that you will rescue them. They do not have a family that wants them, they don’t know how it feels to be loved and they’ve never lived anywhere that felt like home…the streets are where they find their voice and relief from all of the suffering.

Just listen and you’ll see them.”
Paige Dearth, When Smiles Fade

“It is our flaws that make each one of us so perfect.”
Paige Dearth

“The important thing in life is not where you came from, but where you are going.”

Christine Hatfield Thanks for being my friend

Sherri Jones What can I say about this book....From the moment I read the description, I waited for Paige to send me a copy in the mail(Thank you sooooo much Paige) I was not by any means disappointed! I applaude Paige for taking the chance to write about issues that some would find over the top and outlandish. I, myself, could relate to some of the occurrences that developed through "When Smiles Fade." "Normal" people would think these types of experiences don't exist, but in reality, they do! Alot more than most of us would like to admit. Being in law enforcement I have been jaded by what I have seen and wish that most of the victims could find a more encouraging way to survive, when faced with the same circumstances as Emma. I almost had to chuckle though, at the amount that Emma did, in fact, get away with. And anyone who was fully engulfed in the book, as I was, would not have been surprised by the ending. Well done Paige, I bow my head to you, please keep writing
