About this author

When TJ Klune was eight, he picked up a pen and paper and began to write his first story (which turned out to be his own sweeping epic version of the video game Super Metroid—he didn't think the game ended very well and wanted to offer his own take on it. He never heard back from the video game company, much to his chagrin). Now, two decades later, the cast of characters in his head have only gotten louder, wondering why he has to go to work as a claims examiner for an insurance company during the day when he could just stay home and write.

He lives with a neurotic cat in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. It’s hot there, but he doesn’t mind. He dreams about one day standing at Stonehenge, just so he can say he did.

Given a choice between grief and nothing, I’d choose grief.
--William Faulkner

Today is my father’s birthday.

Whether or not other people realize it, my father was the greatest man in the world. Most certainly the tallest, if we’re speaking honestly. But he could also lay claim to being the smartest, the fastest, the biggest, and the funniest man alive. There’s times I was sure he was a superhero,... read more »

TJ added a status update: An insane milestone! Over nine months ago, BOATK was released much to my fear and trepidation. It's been a wild ride, but BOATK to date is still on the GLBT bestseller list over at Amazon and recently surpassed 100 (!!!) reader reviews there. Thank you thank you THANK YOU to all the readers. message 44: by Tina

Tina Thanks for accepting my friend request TJ. I can't tell you how much WWE is affecting me. I am at such a shitty place in life right now and Bear's internal monologue with God is a perfect example of what's going on with me. Especially when he goes back to the beach. It was very cathartic for me to sob like that! I love these characters that you so masterfully bring to life. I see maybe , 10 years later...Dominic & the Kid...

R.B. Thank you for accepting my friend request T.J. :-) I love BOATK!
I thought the same thing about Jonah and Bear's mother as Morgana ;-)

♥Laddie♥ Thanks for accepting the friendvite! :)

message 8: by Morgana (last edited Aug 25, 2011 05:16pm)

Morgana Thanks for accepting my friend request, T.J. :)

And thank you for writing BOATK! It's one of the best mm romance books I have ever read. It made me laugh, cry, it made me sad and angry (I wanted to throttle Ty and Bear's mother! The nerve of that woman!), but most of all, your book made me immensely happy. It was such a joy to see the boys finding their happily ever after. You know, I cannot remember ever being so emotional about any other book, and know what? I love it! So much that I've just ordered the paperback edition of BOATK. I simply must have it on my bookshelf! :D

I have a question, though. How did Bear and Ty's mother know that Otter had lived in San Diego? I even started thinking that somehow she must have met Jonah or something and he paid her for causing Bear to break up with Otter (if they were together, of which Jonah could not be sure). But that's not possible, is it? I bet it's only my overactive imagination. But I would really like to know how she found out about San Diego.

Anyway, once again thank you for writing this wonderful book. There is only one thing that would make me happier... Any guesses? Well, I bet it's not that hard to guess :D A sequel, of course! :) Any chance for it? Oh, please, say yes! I would love to read more about Bear, Otter and the nine-year-old ecoterrorist in training LOL and finally find out how that woman knew about Otter’s previous whereabouts. Geez, I sound like a broken record. But I’m really dying to know this!

Thanks again for this brilliant book! ;)

message 7: by TJ

TJ Thanks Shahreen. Glad you enjoyed it!

Shahreen Thanks for accepting my friendship request T.J!
