About this author

Brinda Berry lives in the southern US with her family and two spunky cairn terriers. She has a BSE in English and French and a MEd in Learning Systems Technology. She's terribly fond of chocolate, coffee, and books that take her away from reality. She doesn't mind being called a geek or “crazy dog lady”. When she's not working the day job or writing a novel, she's guilty of surfing the internet for no good reason.

PicturePlease welcome Sandi Beth Jones to the blog today.

Sandi, I have so many questions for you about your book, Byronic. I love the setting and the mystery. I really love that you've pulled in iconic Lord Byron. Talk to me about Gothic Romance.

What draws you to write Gothic Romance?

When I was younger, I gobbled up books by Edgar Allan Poe, Barbara Michaels, Virginia Hamilton, and Stephen King. I’ve... Read more of this blog post »

" Overall this was a good collection of short stories. Some I liked more than others, but that's typical of an anthology representing different writing styles.

“I suspect it may be like the difference between a drinker and an alcoholic; the one merely reads books, the other needs books to make it through the day."

Margaret Atwood
“Another belief of mine: that everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise.”
Margaret Atwood, Cat's Eye

Lauren Oliver
“Mama, Mama, help me get home
I'm out in the woods, I am out on my own.
I found me a werewolf, a nasty old mutt
It showed me its teeth and went straight for my gut.

Mama, Mama, help me get home
I'm out in the woods, I am out on my own.
I was stopped by a vampire, a rotting old wreck
It showed me its teeth and went straight for my neck.

Mama, Mama, put me to bed
I won't make it home, I'm already half-dead.
I met an Invalid, and fell for his art
He showed me his smile, and went straight for my heart.
