I was born in Massachusetts and after nine international moves - the final one lasting eight years in Dubai- I now live in Cornwall and London with my husband and a cat. I made my first trip to Cornwall in 1989, bought my home there seven years later. My heart is forever in Cornwall, creating new stories.

My debut novel THE CORNISH HOUSE was followed by A CORNISH AFFAIR, A CORNISH STRANGER and UNDER A CORNISH SKY. All published by Orion in English. There are editions in Dutch, German, Portuguese, French, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Estonian, Latvian, Turkish, Serbian, and Croatian. I'm currently working on my next book THE RETURNING TIDE.

Liz Fenwick The first thing that came to my mind was…being able to work in my PJs! But seriously it's the joy of creating worlds and characters that people enjoy.

First I have to confess I LOVE Oman so this book could have failed badly as I have been to almost all the places in the book. Thankfully is succeeded beautifully especially in the descriptions of the desert...I know looking out onto the dunes that be ...more

“You need to write your own book, the book of your heart and not chase the fads. It truly has to be the story you want to tell, it needs that fire, your fire in it. Then enjoy the time pre-publication. It is time to learn all you can about your craft and the industry. It isn’t a race. Finally listen to your work. I have text to voice software that reads the books to me. Listening I can hear things that I would miss on the page.”

“If only there could be an invention that bottled up a memory, like scent. And it never faded, and it never got stale. And then, when one wanted it, the bottle could be uncorked, and it would be like living the moment all over again.”
Daphne du Maurier, Rebecca

“You should write because you love the shape of stories and sentences and the creation of different words on a page. Writing comes from reading, and reading is the finest teacher of how to write.”
Annie Proulx
