About this author

Official bio

Jay Clark is the author of Finding Mr. Brightside, which author Jerry Spinelli (Stargirl) calls “one of my favorite YA books ever,” and The Edumacation of Jay Baker, which Booklist praised in a starred review.

In my own words - 15 random factoids

2. I enjoy a good whale documentary more than just about anyone. Especially if the narrator has a deep, fatherly tone of voice like Tom Selleck or Morgan Freeman.

2. Stop telling yourself it’s booty and keep writing until you’re finished going nowhere, per your daily word count.
3. Crap, you haven’t set a daily word count yet? Please do so now. Choose a number that won’t overwhelm you to the point of feeling defeated before you’ve even started. If 500 is good enough for Ernest Hemingway...

5. On second thought, maybe you should do 10 jumping jacks every 25 minutes, because sitting is the new smoking and I’m starting to worry about your blood circulation.
6. When you’re not writing, keep pursuing the other things that inspire you (besides writing), because otherwise you’ll definitely go crazy.
7. Focus on enjoying the process, not getting to the end result, which is never as "all that" as you think it’s going to be. (less)

I’d love nothing more than to write a companion novel (Heidi is so much more than a pair of Crocs and a cell phone flask!), or even a sequel. I think it just depends on how this novel performs and if it reaches a wide enough audience, not to get all wah-wah on you. In other words, spread the word (if you feel so inclined). :) (less)

In my new book, Finding Mr. Brightside, Juliette describes the office inside of her head as “Crazy, Inc.” and Abram as her one-man Human Resources department. I’m not sure how to put that into context, but what if a company like Crazy, Inc. did exist?

Good news! As of today, Crazy, Inc. is open for business (on this blog)! And we're cracked-outedlyrecruiting candidates like you.
