About this author

First and foremost, I love to read! Fantasy, sci-fi, and horror (and all their sub-genres) are my favorites.

I am an author of fantasy, in all its many sub-genres. Living green, saving endangered species, helping other writers, and supporting fabulous authors are a few of my passions. I am also a volunteer for the IS Foundation which works to make the world a greener place. When I'm not volunteering, writing, or surfing my social networking sites, I can be found on the slopes, the hiking trails, or on horseback. As a native Oregonian, I enjoy the outdoors almost as much as the worlds I create on the pages. No need to travel to the Great Northwest though, you can find me here, on my blog, and Monday night's on Twitter where I co-moderate the...more

As a young writer I wanted nothing more than for my books to sit alongside some of the great bestsellers in fantasy on the NYT bestseller racks in the bookstores. As I grew older and the world changed, I longed to have my books sit alongside those greats on the online bestseller lists on retail websites. Today that dream came true in a HUGE way.

In the fantasy realm of writing there are few~if a... Read more of this blog post »

“There was a sensual feel to the way Aiden's eyes traveled over her, leaving her tingling without even a touch. ~from The Secret of Spruce Knoll.”

“Tis alright. I'm not going to hurt ye. Ye're one of me kind, I wouldn't dare," he said.
So he could sense what she was too. That was encouraging, sort of.
"And what if I wasn't?" she asked.
The young man chuckled, a warm sound that eased her mind a bit. "Well I wouldn't ravish ye if that's what ye're worried about. I'm a Celt, not a barbarian," he said.
Neala couldn't help but smile. "Some would say they are one in the same.”

“The stars could have burned out around us, the moon could have fallen from the sky, and I wouldn't have known it. Not when he leaned indecently close and pressed his cheek against mine to murmur, "Tell me a secret."
I wanted him to tell me how he stopped time like that. How he read my mind. I wanted to admit I wondered if thoughts of me troubled him when he lay awake at night. But I could make none of that come to my lips....
Instead... I whispered back, "I've seen the future."
He didn't laugh. He didn't mock, not like he had done at Privalovna's performance. In the middle of our waltz, he stopped, nose to nose with me. He uncovered me with a look that somehow bared him, too.
And his question told me everything - that he stopped time because he needed me, that he read my mind because we were one. That I troubled his nights, indeed, because what he asked revealed it all.

Diann Shaddox Hi Heather,I'm introducing my new book, A Faded Cottage, a SC love story.Quaid Witherspoon is a man turning fifty, a man with success and money, a world acclaimed artist, but a simple feat of holding a paintbrush turns Quaid’s life upside down
when fate steps in. I'm spreading the word about Essential Tremors and for each book sold a donation will be given back to the IETF. Thanks
