The_scream-1 Well.  Rough week.  :)

On Thursday, I discovered that my girlfriend had been cheating on me.  This had been going on for a few weeks.

Yeah.  Exactly.  Old story, new chump.

In one moment, the camera view stretched out before me, and my world went from being pretty damned awesome to its inverse, its opposite.   The world where Spock has a goatee and Slytherin runs Hogwarts.

But see, here's the thing:  There was no warning, no arguments, no anything.  Right up until things got wobbly...

Life Goal #2: Get badass novel published with major publisher, the sort I would love to read ... check!  (I will let you wonder what #1 is :) )

Yes, indeed: a lifelong dream has come true.  The feeling is incredible, indescribable.  I've known this was coming for a few weeks now, but the reality of it finally hit today, and it is amazing.

Pocket So, here's what I know right now:

The deal is done, in the can.  No goesy-backsies. It is a one-book deal: onl

Wired UK just did an article on the Podiobooks phenomenon ... and linked to this site, so here's some basic info:  I write The Max Quick Series, the podiobook version has gotten 2.4 million downloads to date.  You can find out more here.

I also host a show called Bibliotech all about how technology is changing publishing.  Here's the latest show (which actually is with Evo Terra, inventor of the Podiobook, oddly enough!):

I made 11 dollars a day and did a lot of amazing and fun things like fight wildfires, run shelters in the midst of hurricanes and run operations centers where we got to order FEMA around. Often I was stressed, anxious and worried that I would let people own or maybe get set on fire. ince I'm a reader and didn't have much money, I listened to audio books on a 30 dollar mp3 player that I filled with the occassional libra

Behold J.C. Hutchins new horror masterpiece, Personal Effects: Dark Art.  Below is a 'supervlurb' video for the book by twelve podiobook authors, including myself (I do my bit of spooktification around 3:57).  I will now wait while you watch it (advice: leave the lights on!!!!!!)

I read this book and I endorsed it because it is damned good.  Besides being splash-ice-down-your-spine frightening, time and time again I found myself saying, Damn, that was one nice bit of mind-candy: this kid
