UPDATE. I'M NOT DEAD.

Hi everyone!

I'm still alive, but I've been busy. I was incredibly busy. I wanted to volunteer during the election so I dropped everything to do so. Aren't you glad that whole thing is over? No more political ads and clogged inboxes. I was so over it and I was actually involved LOL.

Anyway, as you can probably surmise, I got no writing done. Not a bit. I felt like I needed to take part in this election so it became far more important. I was literally eating, sleeping and volunteering for a point there. I've been recovering post-election. I miss it in some ways and then I REALLY, REALLY don't.

I want to thank everyone who has been writing to me and visiting the blog and buying books and writing reviews, and many apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I appreciate it much more than I'll ever be able to express on this blog post. I adore all of you.

So "Gone" is looking at a 2013 release. I had initially thought January (if I couldn't get it done in 2012), but I highly doubt that now. I'll get it done as soon/early as I can. When you're not a full-time writer, sometimes you have to prioritize in a way where writing ends up on the back burner for a bit. I really feel awful for any disappointment. I felt torn between being a part of something for my country and writing and I had to go with my strongest feeling. (Cue patriotic music).

I do hope you've been having an amazing time in your other books. I've been hearing so many great things about lots of authors out there. And I picked up some books to pass the time when I was doing phone banking and hanging out in field offices and the like. Perhaps I'll share what I've been reading really soon.

I wish you the happiest of holidays from now through January, and I'll keep you posted! Thanks!!

Gone Synopsis (forgot to write the title like a dummy)

So here it is:
Tensions have reached a boiling point between the Elsdoran government, Russell Tremell and the rebel factions outside of the crumbling cities. People are dying. Nowhere is safe.
For two years, Jackson Smith's friends have watched him become a ruthless and reckless version of himself. To everyone else, he's something of a legend, possibly even a hero.
In reality, Jackson is just as broken as his dream of ever getting back home.
But hope is suddenly on the horizon again. As one event will change everything.
Even though it brings with it an unexpected evil.
In Gone, the final book and startling conclusion of the Taken Trilogy, everything is at stake: love, friendships, alliances, even life.
And nothing is guaranteed. For anyone. Even Jackson.
*******
I hope you like it. But pretty vague, huh? Good =) Thank you for continuing to read, and thank you for your interest. Happy hump day!

Brief info on Book 3

Here's the deal on Book #3, "Gone":

1. Tentatively scheduled for December, but it may move to January instead because I'm going back and forth on a major plot issue (hint: it's a death...) and I need to figure out if I want to go through with it, especially since there isn't a Book #4.

2. I'll post a synopsis for it next week. Remember that time when I "spoiler alert"ed my own story (haha)? Well it was a blessing in disguise because even though I had the original plot for "Gone" figured out, another direction popped up anyway and I liked it way better. Like way, way.

3. I'm happy with the ending I have planned out. I hope you will be too, but I'm sure you won't be. Sigh.

Flash Sale! Lost is $1.99 this week!

Lost is $1.99 this week! And in case you're wondering about Book 3,  I'm saying it's tentatively scheduled for December, but it may move to January instead. Book 3 will see some major changes in Jackson and Sasha's lives. Changes that will either bring them together or tear them apart. And yes, I haven't decided. No one promised you a happy ending ;)

Aurora

I really just want to express my condolences to the people of Aurora and all over the country who lost loved ones this weekend. One of my best friends was born and raised in that area, and he is absolutely heartbroken over what happened. There are really no words to describe the depths of cruelty that went into the act that occurred at Century 16, and an entire country is mourning the loss of people who should have been celebrating one of our greatest pasttimes.

I love being at the movies. It's one of my favorite places. The older gentleman who scans my ticket sees me so much that he knows my personal life, and I, his. We talk. He tells me which movies he has seen and we discuss them. I go there because there is something amazing that happens for me when I see a movie for the first time. There's a purity that you never get to have again because next time, you'll know what's coming. I bought my ticket to The Dark Knight Rises over a month ago because I've loved the franchise since I was in elementary school. The Animated Series came on at 4:30 everyday, I'll never forget, and I was there in front of my tv to watch it. Having been a fan of Chris Nolan's since seeing Memento, I was excited because he is a fantastic storyteller. I wish I could tell stories the way he does. I saw The Dark Knight Rises on Friday and absolutely loved it.

And what should have been an amazing night for the people at Century 16 turned into something too horrific to imagine. No one should ever experience what happened Friday morning in Aurora. Lives are changed. Lives are destroyed. Lives are gone. So I mourn these people I didn't know not only because of their tragic deaths, but  also whose last tweets and family's reflections I look to because, like me, they were movie lovers. And that's a connection that I will always share with them.

So to Jessica, Jonathan, AJ, Jesse, Gordon, John, Matthew, Micayla, Alex, little Veronica, Alexander and Rebecca, I'm sorry this individual took so many precious things away from you: your joy, your hopes, your dreams, your potential, your lives, and snatched you away from the people who love you.

All of you were so young.

Your own stories will live on though.

Rest in peace.

Lost is on Kindle Select for borrowing, Over There is finally on Nook

Both of those things are true =)

How is your summer going? How was your Fourth? Can you tell how much I LOVE summer due to my absence? I do need to blog more though. It's rude to you, but you're probably having fun, too.

Over There and Nook

Hey guys,

It's been awhile!! Sorry I've been so M.I.A... I still haven't posted "Over There" on Nook, but I'll do it this weekend since "Lost" is coming OFF Nook so it can become part of Amazon's Kindle Select program for the next three months. So look out for that!! Sorry for the delay. It'll be 0.99 on Nook forever!

Also, if you've emailed me, I'll get back to you this weekend as well =)

Over There

Hey guys, "Over There" should be available on Amazon at about 2pm-ish ET today 5/28. I haven't posted on Nook yet, but I'll definitely do that in the next few days.

I've said it before, but I want to just make sure people know. "Gone" isn't coming out until closer to the end of the year. I'm taking a major writing break, sort of, this summer. I'll have a better picture in terms of release date at the end of the summer though. So feel free to bug me about it then.

"OVER THERE" IS ON A BIT OF A DELAY (collective groan!)

I'll let you know when I hit publish. And I just gave you a book a few days ago =) Forgive me.

P.S. I stopped by Good Reads and Amazon today (LOL :) You don't think I'm scared to look at what you're saying do you?) Thank you to everyone who takes the time to write something (good or bad) or star something. Trust me, I'm cool with honesty and opinions. Our entire lives, who we are and what we do, we get reviewed by someone somewhere. Life is tough, wear a helmet. LOL.

Anyway. I'll let you know soon enough, hopefully.
