About this author

D.E. Lamont's interest in books and writing developed as a preteen when her favorite aunt, Libby, took her to the big Hollywood book shop of the era, Pickwick Books, and let her pick out as many books as she wished to get. Delighted, she became an avid reader and visitor to the library from that time forward. Her reading interests varied among the classics, adventure, western, fantasy, thrillers, science fiction, historical fiction, biography and autobiography.

Growing up in the mushrooming residential developments of the San Fernando Valley of Southern California, she and her brothers explored the wild chaparral-covered hills and canyons surrounding the Valley, where they found signs of former Native American inhabitants. These discoveries...more

The
prospect of death can be terrifying or depressing and for some can make
living and life seem worthless. Afterall the greatness and creativity
and pleasure that human beings can enjoy and invest into life, it seems
the greatest bad joke of the universe that our awareness and our
participation in lifecan simply be cut off forever.

Perhaps
you're thinking, now she's talking about dying, just...

More of D.E.'s books…
“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
W.B. Yeats

“Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.”
W.B. Yeats, The Collected Poems

“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
W.B. Yeats, The Land of Heart's Desire

“I bring you with reverent hands
The books of my numberless dreams.”
W.B. Yeats, The Wind Among the Reeds 1899

“I will arise and go now,
And go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there,
Of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there,
A hive for the honey bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there,
For peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning
To where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer,
And noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings

I will arise and go now,
For always night and day
I hear lake water lapping
With low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway
Or on the pavements gray,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.”
W.B. Yeats

Hi Sara, I just wanted to drop you a quick line and let you know that there have recently been two favorable reviews posted on my book, in case you hadn't seen them. Well, this is exciting for a new author, I have to say. Hope you're having a good reading summer. I'm working my day job, so the only summery part to it is the heat! LOL!
