About this author

David Louis Edelman's first novel Infoquake was called "the love child of Donald Trump and Vernor Vinge" by Barnes & Noble Explorations and later named their Top SF Novel of 2006. Infoquake was also nominated for the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for Best Novel, and he has been nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2008.

His second novel, MultiReal (the sequel to Infoquake), was called "a thoroughly-successful hybrid of Neuromancer and Wall Street" by Hugo nominee Peter Watts, and listed as one of the top SF novels of 2008 by io9, Pat's Fantasy Hotlist and SFFWorld.

His third novel, Geosynchron, the third book in the Jump 225 trilogy, was released by Pyr on February 23, 2010. Already Locus Magazine has called t...more

If anyone's looking at this blog anymore, you might have noticed that I haven't updated it in around two years. I haven't published anything new in all this time, and I haven't announced any further writing projects after the Jump 225 trilogy — the last installment of which (Geosynchron) came out in February of 2010.

The main answer about where I've been and what I've been doing can be answered...

Infoquake (Excerpts) (Science Fiction & Fantasy)
3 chapters   —   updated Mar 29, 2010 04:32pm
Description: The debut novel by web programmer David Louis Edelman takes science fiction into alien territory: the corporate boardroom of the far future. It's a stunning trip through the trenches of a technological war fought with product demos, press releases, and sales pitches. With "Infoquake," David Louis Edelman has created a fully detailed world that's both as imaginative as "Dune" and as real as today's Wall Street Journal.

“We do not often get to declare victories, Natch, and most of them do not remain victories for very long. Ultimately when you reach my age you realize that victories are temporary, and in all the years of human history there is one final battle which nobody has ever won.Time has a way of changing the terms of your victories over the years, until you begin to wonder precisely what it was you fought for so viciously, so uncompromisingly. You begin to see that victory and defeat are but alternate reflections from the same prism. You see that the measure of a person really might be the integrity with which he fought his battles and not their ultimate dispensation, just like your elders have been telling you all along.”
David Louis Edelman, MultiReal
