About this author

Like so many writers, Nike Chillemi started writing at a very young age. She still has the Crayola, fully illustrated book she penned (colored might be more accurate) as a little girl about her then off-the-chart love of horses. Today, you might call her a crime fictionista. Her passion is crime fiction. She likes her bad guys really bad and her good guys smarter and better.

Nike is the founding board member of the Grace Awards and is its Chairman, a reader's choice awards for excellence in Christian fiction. She writes book reviews for The Christian Pulse online magazine. She was an Inspy Awards 2010 judge in the Suspense/Thriller/Mystery category and a judge in the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Carol Awards in the suspense, mystery, and romantic su

I make two lists: 1) places my hero/heroine would never go and 2) things my hero/heroine would never do. Then I start writing a chapter (keeping to the direction and themes of the novel) and place my hero and/or heroine in one of those placed, doing one of those things. Now that's a first draft. I can rewrite and alter things in the final version. But this method will get me out of the doldrums of writing.(less)

On the first day of Spring NYC had yet another snow storm, albeit, this one a minor one, only three to four inches. But it came down steadily and it stuck. So, the Department of Sanitation had to get its trucks out sanding and salting once again. This after a series of horrendous snow storms […] Read more of this blog post »

I don't live in the beach, though I love it and write about the ocean, mostly the Atlantic. I live in Gotham (metro NYC). Most people don't realize NYC has beaches, several. I'm off a protected wetland and can smell the briny, salt in the air from my deck many morning before there are too many cars and their exhaust kills the aroma coming from the inlets off the Atlantic.

What do you mean by hard to categorize faith with fiction?
