So I'm giving Twitter another go... and it's been a lot of fun! If you're on Twitter, shoot me a message. Even if it's about randomness, like a movie you recently saw and liked (always looking for those), a book you recently read and liked (always looking for more of those too), or just anything.

1 chapters — updated Nov 11, 2011 09:16pm
Description: This is a sample of my paranormal romance/urban fantasy novel, The Scarlet Dagger! =) Please visit www.kdjonesbooks.com to download a longer sample, or visit any of the vendor links to have a longer sneak peek. I also give previews for books at my blog, http://krystlejones.blogspot.com Happy reading! Synopsis The strength of Sloane’s heart is about to put to the ultimate test. After the Eclipse – the night vampires began openly slaughtering human victims – everything changed. Out of fear, the government salvaged what remained of the human population and enclosed them in massive, security-laden cities called White Sectors, while marking the vampire infested territory as Red Sectors. When seventeen-year-old Sloane McAllister’s twin brother disappears, she seems to be the only one who thinks he isn’t dead, and vows to stop at nothing to find him. Gathering her courage, she braves the Red Sector to search for clues to his whereabouts. By chance, she encounters Aden, a handsome, charismatic vampire with a hidden agenda. He turns Sloane against her will, and whisks her away to his underground city. Enemies quickly become friends as Sloane struggles against her attraction to Aden, and resists her growing loyalties to the creatures that ruined her life. But the vampires themselves are the least of her problems. The city is harboring a devastating secret, one that could change the tide of the war and threaten to destroy everything Sloane has come to believe in. Heart-stopping action and scorching romance collide in this dystopian thriller. (approx. 82,000 words or 256 pages)
Veiled Innocence (The Soul Cycle, #1) (Science Fiction & Fantasy)
1 chapters — updated Oct 20, 2011 07:40pm
Description: Sometimes your greatest battles are fought from within.
Lianora has never placed much stock in the gods or in the lore of the land. She especially never believed the legends that spoke of a lost ancient magic, a magic woven from the fabric of people’s souls. So when she discovers the teardrop necklace, she thinks it to be nothing special – until the visions begin, horrific glimpses of an approaching evil, mingled with fragments of a legendary empress’ shattered past.
Try as she might, Lianora cannot ignore the omens. As the visions worsen, she finds herself internally battling a shadowy voice that seems bent on consuming her whole. When tragedy strikes her home, she is forced to flee and team up with Vishka, a beautiful, fierce warrior shrouded in mystery, and Rowan, a brooding young knight. Together, the reluctant allies must find a way to conquer the darkness threatening to overtake the land of Eresea, and Lianora will have to come to terms with the destiny she never asked for.
With gripping action, forbidden romance, and magical intrigue at every page, Veiled Innocence is the first installment in an epic fantasy saga that will leave readers on the edges of their seats begging for more.
Enjoyed the excerpt? Oh really? How come it wouldn't!
Sorry for not replying back, because I didn't know you replied, goodreads didn't notify me.

I was going to draw the whole portrait, but then got frustrated and cut it with scissors then decided to draw the missing pieces :D
Can I see some of your work?

I tried posting on your DevAart profile, but it wouldn't let me. You have a lovely portfolio! My favorite is bits and pieces. I had to do a similar assignment for art class, except we were required to use pastels. I had an ocean scene with a big square cut out in the middle, but your idea is much cooler. ;) Personally, I've always had a passion for cartoons, though I love portraits too. It's always a challenge trying to capture people on paper.

I liked it, actually! Originally, I saw the movie first (was a bit iffy about it and kinda lost at times), but I ended up liking the book, which kinda affected my outlook on the film, I suppose. In short, I liked it. :p Wish I had read the book first, though. How about you?
