" I love the worlds Ms. Miles creates in her stories. Amid elegant writing is always two characters, in this case an Elven Princess and a human, that I fall in love with and cheer on. Her characters always stay with me long after I finish the book. "

William Faulkner
“Read, read, read. Read everything -- trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it.
Then write. If it's good, you'll find out. If it's not, throw it out of the window.”
William Faulkner

Stephen King
“I like to get ten pages a day, which amounts to 2,000 words. That’s 180,000 words over a three-month span, a goodish length for a book — something in which the reader can get happily lost, if the tale is done well and stays fresh.”
Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft
