I knew exactly how many chapters I wanted, how they should each begin and end, etc. It then took me over a year to expand on them. The book is a bit based on my experiences when I was growing up in India, and the second part is based on what I saw when I came here.

It was a great experience writing the book. To me, it was taking a walk down the memory lane.

India Was One by An Indian
"'India was one' the title itself creates a curiosity in the minds of the reader and one wonders whether it is yet another story inspired by the ghastly partition of India. Even in the prologue one asks oneself what might have happened on a nationa..." Read more of this review »

An Indian

“An Indian lies in the eyes of the beholder…what you choose to see.

You can travel the length and breadth of India, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Mumbai to Kolkota, and not see a single Indian. You will see Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, etc. You will see Maharashtrians, Gujaratis, UPites, Biharis, Bengalis, Tamils, Telugus, Malayalis, etc.

Or you will see Indians.”

Arjun Rawat Dear Book-lover & author,

I viewed your profile and noticed you a good book-reader and penned various books. I am too a writer and recently penned a new fiction named MUGGER. It is focused on corruption, criminalization of politics and various others problems pertaining to society. Its Hindi version too awarded by NHRC for safeguarding human rights. I would appreciate if you read my fiction and apprise me about its deficiencies so that I can make further improvement in my writing. MUGGER is available on paper-back in :- Flipkart, Infibeam, Crossword, uRead, Power-publishers etc. MUGGER will soon be available on e-book through orders.india@partridgepublishing.com.
Regards.

Arjun Singh Rawat
