| I had a love/hate relationship with this book. I liked the main character, and I thought the writing flowed well. But so much of it felt to me like a clone of Hunger Games that it was hard to really enjoy it. Probably not going to continue this trilo...more | |

| Not as scary as I hoped, but still interesting. It definitely is dated, but I love this story. I'm looking forward to reading Jackson's short story The Lottery one of these days! | |

| One of the most original, ambitious novels I've read in a long time. While I didn't really care for the whole "Louis Thanksgiving ghost" subplot, I loved the characters of Ava and Kiwi and had a really fun time with this book! I look forward to readi...more | |

| I enjoyed the first half of this book but felt it rambled on way too long, and not enough of it was about Oskar and Eli. I'm astonished to admit this but I prefer the American film Let Me In over both this book and the Swedish film! | |

| I really really really want to love this series. Stephen King is my favorite author, and The Dark Tower is his longest epic ever. Everyone told me to get through Books 1 & 2 to get to this one, that it'd be worth the wait, but I struggled getting...more | |

“There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it.”

“I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I'm afraid of. ”

“There's always fear of the unknown where there's mystery”
― David Lynch

“The truth of life is that every year we get farther away from the essence that is born within us. We get shouldered with burdens, some of them good, some of them not so good. Things happen to us. Loved ones die. People get in wrecks and get crippled. People lose their way, for one reason or another. It's not hard to do, in this world of crazy mazes. Life itself does its best to take that memory of magic away from us. You don't know its happening until one day you feel you've lost something but you're not sure what it is. It's like smiling at a pretty girl and she calls you 'sir'. It just happens.”
