About this author

Mark Lawrence is married with four children, one of whom is severely disabled. His day job is as a research scientist focused on various rather intractable problems in the field of artificial intelligence. He has held secret level clearance with both US and UK governments. At one point he was qualified to say 'this isn't rocket science ... oh wait, it actually is'.
Between work and caring for his disabled child, Mark spends his time writing, playing computer games, tending an allotment, brewing beer, and avoiding DIY.

The first books have been printed! Out August 1st/6th.

Sorry I missed this - I guess it all depends on the age. Many classics I loved seem too slow for modern kids (Stig of the Dump, Weirdstone of Brisengamen), Dahl still seems to work (Fantastic Mr Fox etc). My daughter _loves_ Lauren Child, especially the Claric Bean books. But there's no beating Wheel-Mouse vs All The Crazy Robots!

Devraj Thanks for the add! I'm from India and am a big fan of your work. The best moment for me in the book was the door with the artificial intelligence. I simply loved the whole concept. I can't wait for the second book! Kudos to you again, cheers!
