The Whirligig of TimeThe Whirligig of Time by Nora Lourie Percival

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Percival's third memoir in her trilogy of memoirs brings the reader to the homefront during World War II. Woven into her enchanting personal story are the reports she wrote as a Counselor to Women's Workers in a large defense plant producing vital war material. The TLC she offered to her charges, at much personal sacrifice, saw them through many dilemmas.

"The Whirligig of Time" is a vivid portrait of women's private battles fought during this tumultous period in history, and the dislocations suffered by families because of the war effort.

At 97 years of age, Percival looks back on these times with a wisdom that is enlightening, portraying the unity of the war-torn country, which contrasts sharply with today's devisive political climate.

Everyone should read this book!
