Ludmilla Petrushevskaya was born in Moscow in 1938. She is a novelist, playwright, artist and singer. She was shortlisted for the Russian Booker Prize in 1992 and in 2002 was awarded Russia's most prestigious prize, The Triumph, for her lifetime achievement.
