A fair SF work based on the scientific premise where cloned women stand at the top of the human hierarchy. On a distant planet, of course, and with a yawnable narrative. I guess you'd call this "orthodox SF" because of its attention to following the...more

Nice collection of what are clearly older, recycled shorts (not one cell phone mentioned in the book.) There's a stock character Connell uses: a fellow who had returned after world travel and is telling accounts of his stories abroad. This is Connell...more

" Cringeworthy character cliches and plotting. I was perhaps most annoyed at Barron's fictional attempts at writing like Woolf. Barron seems a fan of talking brand name luxury goods--an urge better tamed; it alienates the reader and disrupts the flo... "

What is this mid 19th century book doing in a mid 20th century publishing list? All tepid joking aside, I was fascinated that this book (there are in fact two volumes to this expansive work exceeding 1300 pages...) was actually published in 1955 when...more

An excellent way to understand Jung and his place in modern thought. My edition was the 2007 edition, so there were some insightful updates since the first edition in 1996.

In short... an amazing glimpse into the mind of a genius and the father (co-father) of analytical psychology. Because this is nearly an autobiography, it does its best to skirt the topic of Jung's Nazi sympathies in the mid 30s. But he writes in an e...more
