From that moment I was fascinated by the kami and the myths surrounding them.

I also learned that kanji were originally developed to communicate with the spirit world, and so I liked the connection between writing with ink and the power of the kami. It’s summer in Japan, and the buzz of the cicadas cuts through the muggy heat that sticks to your skin. Thanks to a writer’s grant, I’m in Shizuoka, living in the setting of The Paper Gods as I finish the final draft of STORM. Every day is filled with details, wandering through Sunpu Park or the tunnels of Shizuoka Station, checking what kind of flowers and bushes g...

Martha Sweeney Thanks for connecting! Looking forward to reading some of your books. :)

Joelle Hansen im writing a story thats loosely based on the japanese fairytale tale of the Bamboo cutter. Can you give me some advice on writing about the historical in the modern world. as you have proven to me every time i read rain. that you are a role model and expert in that writing genre. (<*^*>)

message 3: by Noemi

Noemi Oh god, I've been studying Japanese for a while now and I've always been in love with the culture and the language. So, I'm happy that finally, there's a new series which is set in this amazing world! I love it! Love you Amanda. XoXoXo, M. Ps.: Can't wait for Rain!

Ms. MiLo Thanks for the add Amanda, looking forward to reading your books :)

Louise I absolutely loved Ink, the artwork in the book was a really clever idea and the cover was absolutely stunning, if I could rate it higher than a five, I would give the book a ten.
