Hard to Forget: isn't that a cool title?  And the cover of this new title from my lovely friend Incy Black is equally memorable. So I'm thrilled to welcome Incy here today to tell us a bit about her explosive new book from Entangled Ignite. Over to you, Incy!

 Ode to a Strong Woman

Major Jack Ballentyne, mega alpha-hero in Hard to Forget, tends to grab most attention, because when he’s being a dick, his behavior seemingly knows no bounds. However sexy, he’s still a man without conscience. A man in denial. And it was always going to take one hell of a woman to bring about this British Intelligence Agent‘s redemption. Enter disgraced Lowry Fisk—the woman Jack shot, then had court marshaled.
Fragile on the surface, Lowry’s backbone is made of steel; her inner strength sets her apart. Buried within her are the qualities all women share, to whatever degree, though they may not realize it.

She’s a survivor. Life cuts, she recovers. She knows when to advance, and when to retreat. When to battle, and when to negotiate—most of the time. (She’s not perfect). She tempers compassion with humor, and practical action. She has an instinctive map to getting her own way. (Detours allowed)Forgiveness can be earned, but she never forgets. Her inner war cry is, ‘No Surrender’.
Lowry wasn’t easy to write, at times it felt impossible. But then I looked to women in the media, women sharing on line, and above all, to my friends. Each was ‘making a difference’, quietly, in their own inimitable way. And, in each one of them, I saw strength. So, high-five to being female!
Extract from Hard to Forget:
The absurdity of the situation struck, she started laughing. “Do you have to intimidate everyone, Ballentyne?”“If it gets the job done.”
Her laughter stopped at the word ‘job.’
“And to hell with the consequences?” She flexed and wriggled against him. He released her. She stepped away to give them both some distance before turning to face him, appalled by the sob stuck in her throat. She wouldn’t cry. She never cried. She might never stop. “You should have asked your stupid questions and listened to my answers four years ago, Jack, because that was your job,” she said quietly. His hands cupped the curves of her shoulders. “I’m asking, and listening, now.”“I think you might have left it too bloody late. Patient Peter’s invincible, and he knows it. You and—”The kiss he brushed across her lips was as unexpected as it was shockingly inappropriate for its timing. But not as shocking as his second pass, his mouth now more certain. Firm and more insistent. Transforming from casual to demanding as if her surrender was not just inevitable, but worth the risk and what the hell. And nowhere near as shocking and inexplicable as her response. Feral and urgent. Like a wild animal caged for too long and suddenly released. It was she who closed the distance. She who raised her arms to clasp him closer. She who hung on tight. She who opened to allow him a deeper taste. And she who all but climbed his body in need.Free, Full Chapter 1 available here:Entangled PublishingBuy linksAmazon UKAmazon(US)iTunesBarnes & Noble

It's taken me a little while and, like a fine brew, there are some things that can't be rushed, but today is the day: Blackmailed by the Billionaire Brewer is launched courtesy of Entangled Publishing!

Isn't Matt DeLeo just a little bit tasty on the cover there on the right?

And do you remember this picture? Research was so hard  for this one ...
Pink beer tasting and the company of a warm cat - wonderful. But utterly necessary - read the book and you'll find out why!

Here's the blurb:

Piper Reilly is in trouble. She needs a cash infusion, and she’s just left a scorching hot man in Florida to get her life in Colorado back on track. Then her surfside one-night-stand turns out to be her new boss, billionaire Matt DeLeo, with an offer she can’t refuse—agree to be the face of his brewery’s newest concoction or lose her job. A few weeks modelling for the billionaire playboy and her money worries are over, and she can definitely resist Matt’s gorgeous smile and muscular, tattooed arms—it’s strictly business.

Matt DeLeo is in trouble. He’s found the perfect woman to sell Passion Creek Brewery’s newest brew, but if he wants her on his posters, he’ll have to keep his hands to himself. But all he wants to do is drink in Piper. And once the launch is over, it will take more than blackmail for Matt to get his way.
Available now to sample or buy worldwide as an eBook, here are the Major buy links .

My publisher is also celebrating with a special giveaway (US only):
Entangled’s very first imprint, Indulgence, brings us the romance we want. And the fantasy men we can’t get enough of!  Their new covers show off those rough and ready cowboys, CEOs, and alpha tycoons we crave.  Join us in celebrating the brand new look of Indulgence!

...I wonder where that Lyndhurst woman is?

Well, I'm still here! It's been a grim winter of rain and wind for a lot of people in the UK and I'm very grateful to be able to say that everyone in the Lyndhurst household didn't get too caught up in it even though we're on the south coast of England. There was a slight 60 foot hitch a the bottom of the garden at one point though:

I've been writing like a mad woman since I last blogged and have doing quite a lot of other things like a mad woman too, but I'll save that information for another day if the men in the white coats don't get me. :0)

Okay, so here's the serious bit:

There will be at least two new books out from me in 2014; Blackmailed by the Billionaire Brewer (Passion Creek series, #3) in May and A Sicilian Engagement in August. So keep an eye out here and on Facebook and Twitter for the hottest news as it breaks. I'm sure I can think up some fun giveaways and stuff as those release dates approach too.

And here's the fun bit:

I try to write books that have an element of fantasy and Hermes bags full of luxury to carry my readers off to another place for a few hours. Away from the rubbish bins, laundry and cat litter of life. But you know, sometimes it's easy to forget what the world is like outside that front door , so I was thrilled to be asked out to dinner recently. Yes, dinner! One that I didn't microwave myself.  Posh frocks, best lippy, high heels and all that. So here are a few snaps of my whirlwind trip to the Savoy in glamorous central London.

Travel was first class...

...and so was the book I was reading!

The taxi dropped me by the entrance, but I didn't have too much time to take pictures as champagne beckoned, but check out that fountain:

The vast lobby was breathtaking, all art deco glamour.

And floral arrangements ...

... everywhere!

Tinkling pianos ...

... and elaborate cocktails.

Powder rooms that put my entire house in the shade
- certainly a lot more clean towels on hand that's for sure!
(I think this lady has had a few too many G&Ts!)

Top class nosh, naturally.
And London flashing past me as I was chauffeured home and turned back in Cinders again.

And finally, a very important Captain of Industry asked me that night if my trip to the Savoy  would inspire a new book. Now there's a thought - I think it just might!

Happy reading in the sunshine everyone! Or snuggled up warm inside with a beverage if it decides to rain/snow/blow again.

November 14, 2013

This week my contemporary romance The Spanish Billionaire's Hired bride was re-released as part of Entangled Indulgence's The Billionaire Bundle. The other two books are The Boss and Her Billionaire by Michele De Winton and Blackmailed by the Billionaire by Nina Croft.
And lovely Nina is here today to answer some probing questions about the hot topic  this week: Billionaires!
Are your heroes always billionaires? Not always, though all my contemporary romance heroes so far have been billionaires. Luc, the hero of Blackmailed by the Italian Billionaire, actually owns his own island off Italy—we’re talking seriously rich here. But I also write in a number of other romance sub-genres, including paranormal and sci-fi, and the heroes of those stories are usually not billionaires. Or perhaps, it’s rather that the subject of money rarely comes up. But then they do have other attributes…
We all write about billionaires, but just what makes rich men so sexy? For me it’s a power thing. And while it’s not essential, money often goes hand in hand with success and power. Of course, I could also mention the champagne and the private jets (Luc whisks Lia off to his island on a private jet while plying her with champagne…) but that would make me sound shallow.
Do you write what you know? (as in how many billionaires are you acquainted with, and can you introduce me to any?) It’s so sad, but I don’t know a single billionaire—where are they all hiding? For that matter, I don’t even know any millionaires. But I do have a very active imagination. Actually, I very rarely write what I know, I love making things up. Some genres lend themselves to that much more than others (with paranormal and sci-fi romance there is no limitation butyour imagination) but there’s still a lot of scope in contemporary romance—just explore your fantasies.
So we all love men with money – but what’s the next most important attribute you think a hero should have? I’m going to have to think about this one, otherwise there’s a good chance I’ll come across as shallow… again (Hey, maybe I am shallow). But shallow or not, for me a hero has to be good-looking, gorgeous, stunning, totally sexy. I could say they need a sense of humour, or they love animals, or loyalty to their friends and family, and while I’ve written heroes with all of those qualities, they are not essential. Being drool-worthy is.
Do you prefer your billionaires to be self-made men or old money?Self-made, definitely. I like a hero who maybe has just a bit of a rough side, who’s been around, had to struggle, and maybe not had things easy all their lives—it’s character building. While Luc comes from money on his Italian mother’s side, his father was a small-time crook, and Luc grew up in the seedier parts of London and even spent time in prison.
What are you working on right now, a billionaire or something else? I’m working on a paranormal romance for Entangled’s Covet line. It’s actually a sequel to a book releasing later this month, Operation Saving Daniel. Daniel actually was a billionaire, but with Bastian, the hero of the second book, I’m not even sure of his financial status. We’ve never actually discussed money. But he lives in a penthouse in London and drives a Ferrari so I suppose he must have quite a lot. On the other hand, he’s a sorcerer, so maybe he just waved his wand and they appeared…

Thanks for talking to us today, Nina, and don't forget the giveaway we've organised to celebrate this release. Enter below to be in with a chance to win Monopoly Millionaire, chocolate coins, a selection of backlist eBooks from all of us and a $10 amazon giftcard (or £ equivalent) ! a Rafflecopter giveaway

Bio: Nina Croft grew up in the north of England. After training as an accountant, she spent four years working as a volunteer in Zambia which left her with a love of the sun and a dislike of 9-5 work. She then spent a number of years mixing travel (whenever possible) with work (whenever necessary) but has now settled down to a life of writing and picking almonds on a remote farm in the mountains of southern Spain.Nina writes all types of romance often mixed with elements of the paranormal and science fiction.Find me at:Website Twitter
