about this author
I grew up outside Hartford, CT. When I was 16 I discovered college radio and quickly grew to love the punk and hardcore music that the University of Hartford and Wesleyan University stations played. Nearly 30 years later, I still love punk and indie rock, as well as classic rock, jazz, blues, electronica, old-school country and psychedelia.
I've been writing stories since I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. Over the years I've published small batches of 'zines with odd names like Frog Spit and Slank in which I included some of my stories alongside stories, poems, essays and cartoons of my friends and family.
Late last year I finally published my first collection of short stories, after 10 years of on-again, off-again writing and editing. I'm proud of this collection, which uses music to ground the stories. The stories are somewhat autobiographical, but I had to fictionalize them to make them more interesting.
My next fiction project will be to complete a novel I began more than three years ago, along with the accompanying soundtrack.
I am also trying to crack the children's book market.
I live outside Boston with my wife and two kids.
