I am a teacher and writer living in British Columbia. I host open mic at my local coffee shop and enjoy entering poetry contests. I have worked with a Young Adult population for most of my career and I wanted to help reluctant readers find books to enjoy that were both at a level they could manage and that shared interesting and pertinent themes. The Orca Currents and Soundings Series is perfect for this YA audience and I feel privileged to have 'Benched' published by them. I am thrilled that my second YA novel, LIVING ROUGH will be out in the Fall of 2011. It is also being published by Orca.
