My writing career began when I was in third grade and I won a poetry contest with a poem about fire prevention. I followed this success in fourth grade with a congratulatory letter to John F Kennedy shortly after he was elected President. My mom has saved his reply all these years.
Sadly, my writing was put on hold for some twenty years (a very long case of writer's block?) until I became sports columnist for a Brooklyn newspaper, a gig that lasted several years. During this period I also published articles in several sports periodicals.
I published my first novel, "School Colors" (now available on Amazon.com)) in 2002 and my latest novel, "Sophie Paraskova," (for sale in paperback and Kindle on Amazon} this year.

His father, a descendant of powerful German-Jewish bankers, was CEO of a major financial institution; mother, a long-ago debutante, was the founder of a social media giant. The family’s main residence was a huge, elegant brownstone in the Columbia Heights section of Brooklyn Heights. Of course, the estate in Marin County, California... Read more of this blog post »

THE JAMES MASON C...: * A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE BY A MEMBER FOR A YOUNG MAN GONE TOO SOON 15 156 Oct 29, 2011 08:17PM
Oscar Wilde
“Whenever people agree with me I always feel I must be wrong.”
Oscar Wilde

“When I die I want them to play the BLACK AND CRAZY BLUES, I want to be cremated, put in a bag of pot and I want beautiful people to smoke me and hope they got something out of it. ∞”
Rahsaan Roland Kirk

John Lennon
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
John Lennon

Sylvia Plath
“Mad Girl's Love Song

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)”
Sylvia Plath

“Those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand.”
