About this author

Bio in 140 characters or less: Somewhere in the cosmic collision of life, God saw fit to make another Alabamian.

The nitty: An Alabamian who loves cheese and life. She works in a nursing home and steals stories from the elderly in exchange for sponge baths. Next year her debut YA novel, Watched, will be released.

The nitty-gritty: She grew-up in the South. Almost as far south as you can get. She says things like "y'all" and "ain't" and "shut the front door"(which is more or less an expression of shock). She married a giant man and they have one, semi-giant son who's sometimes called Cluckey or The Child. During the daytime hours she works in a nursing home with the elderly.(Side note: She wants to inform you never, under any circumstances, be...more

Hiya!

This is the next teaser from Touched before its release. Mikayla, as per usual, is in trouble. She’s found herself a long way from home and in bad company.

Sulphur Springs dissolved into burnt wastelands. The foreign cityscape on the horizon—tall, imposing buildings—lay in seedy, post-apocalyptic ruins. Rows of aging apartments, one huff and puff shy of meth lab status, made the narrow alle... Read more of this blog post »

“Hurt shouldn’t pile up like this inside of someone. No one should suffocate beneath pain on top of pain. You should have time to breathe, time to scream it out until it doesn’t exist anymore.”

“That's you, drops of water and you're on top of the mountain of success. But one day you start sliding down the mountain and you think wait a minute; I'm a mountain top water drop. I don't belong in this valley, this river, this low dark ocean with all these drops of water. Then one day it gets hot and you slowly evaporate into air, way up, higher than any mountain top, all the way to the heavens. Then you understand that it was at your lowest that you were closest to God. Life's a journey that goes round and round and the end is closest to the beginning. So if it's change you need, relish the journey.”

A Reading Whore “Watched” By Sharde Richardson is a tale gripping novel. It is dark, Realistic, humorous and different. Sharde’s writing is very detailed and this new world she created seems so real but frighting at the same time. The darkside of “Watched” scared me and caused me to look around my room as if these dark shadows were going to out of no where to grab me. I love when a book can catch my attention and cause me to think about Reality. There are so many Authors out here who do not make the world their writing about seem real and Sharde Richardson did what they didn’t do, She made her world real.
I am not a big Fan of female lead characters but Mikayla chsnged my mind. Mikayla is not a boring , she adds humor in this dark , cruel, world filled with demons and death. Even when Mikayla is in pain she is cracking jokes and making funny remarks and I love Mikayla because she is not a character who feels sorry for herself. Mikayla keeps moving forward. May I add that I want her Red parka!! I want her hoodie!
Sharde Richardson is detailed writer and breath of fresh air compared to a lot of these bland writers out here. It makes me wonder why Authors like Sharde are not on the bestsellers list?!?! You want something dark ,humorous, and a novel that has a kick ass female lead? Read WATCHED by Sharde richards! BOO-YEAH, BIOTCH!!!
