The Nightmare Within: Chapter 9 (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated Sep 01, 2011 02:51pm
Description: Maury has the power to pull dreams into the waking world, giving the dreams corporeal form. These dream-people range from seemingly human figures, to monstrous beasts compelled by the most primal urges. Once exposed to the real world, the dreams evolve, adapting to their surroundings. Maury is gathering dreams for display at Lucidity, the soon-to-open Museum of Dreams. From a boy named Kevin, he removes Mr. Freakshow, a nightmare feeding on the trauma of Kevin having recently witnessed his father's murder. As Maury falls in love with a dream-woman named Joy, he realizes how wrong it is to enclose the dreams. During the Lucidity's Grand Opening, Mr. Freakshow escapes. To create a diversion, Mr. Freakshow frees the other dreams. The Nightmares, The Erotic Dreams, The Serenity Dreams--all of the dreams--invade the city. Mr. Freakshow knows the rules that govern the dreams: 1. A dream-person achieves immortality by killing its dreamer. 2. If a dreamer dies for any other reason, the embodied dream disappears forever. At first Maury seeks out Mr. Freakshow in order to stop him, only to realize there is only one way to accomplish this; he must find Kevin first, killing him before the nightmare has its way. Kevin will do whatever it takes to be free of his nightmare, once and for all. Maury will do whatever it takes to protect the love of his life. Mr. Freakshow will do whatever it takes to realize his immortality. Will Kevin survive his nightmare?

JoJo Hey Glen! Thanks for the add. I look forward to reading your work and have added you name to my authors to look for as well as promoting you on google+ and facebook. Have a wonderful week :)

Christine Hatfield Oh that's really cool and i like your profile picture

message 40: by Glen

Glen Krisch You will definitely know when my print editions will become available.

I'd love for a respected small press to take a crack at publishing a limited edition of my work. I'm working behind the scenes even now, and that's why I haven't jumped in with two feet to publish them on my own.

message 39: by Bethica

Bethica As I sit here looking at my bookshelf and realize how long it's been since I actually purchased a real life paper book, I got to thinking about you're thoughts earlier about releasing your books in print. When you do, can I be one of the first in line for a first edition signed copy? LOL! It really would look great on my shelf sitting next to all the other great authors there.

Christine Hatfield Oh that's really cool

so what do you like to do for fun when your not writing books?

message 37: by Glen

Glen Krisch I started with short stories about 20 years ago. As far as novels, about 10. I started publishing some of my titles a little over a year ago.

Glen Krisch Hi Martin,
Thanks so much for your kind words! That's really nice to come home to after a hard day at the day job. FYI, I thought you might like to know that I had a story published in 2009? that is set in the second Brother's Keeper book. Titled "Gleaners," it appeared in the S. African magazine, Something Wicked. Here's a link to a brief story excerpt. http://www.somethingwicked.co.za/arch.... "Gleaners" will be reprinted in my short story collection that is due out in May.
Thanks again for your support!

Jeremy I want to apologize for the all the recommendations from me today. I wanted to share the Stoker Award news, and I only pressed the send button once--I'm not sure what happened to create so many messages. Some weird glitch.

Argh...this is terrible...

Again, I'm very sorry.

Jeremy Here’s wishing you a nifty New Year filled with noiseless noses, neato nicknames, noble Nebraskans, gnarly narcoleptic nebulas, and novel novels about nut-eating narwhals and novercaphobic gnats.

-Jeremy :)

P.S.—I’m currently offering autographed/personally-inscribed copies of my novel, Vacation, with free shipping for those in the US. If there’s anything you could do to help me spread the word about this, I’d really appreciate it. Feel free to click here for details:

Jeremy Hi Glen!

Here’s wishing you a yippee-filled Yuletime overflowing with yard-long yams, yapping yoyo-yanking yetis, yak-milk yeast-cakes, and yellow yarn-yielding year-end yard-gnomes.

-Jeremy :)

Jeremy Thanks for the friendship, Glen!

If you don't mind sharing--I'm curious, what's your favorite novel(if you have one)?

Also, I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of reading about my debut novel, Vacation. Your support would mean a lot to me. If you'd like to do me this honor, feel free to click here:

Here’s wishing you a fantastic day filled with fabulous fates, fanciful festivities, and frolicking phantom footstools.
