I've written four novels, all published by Orion Books. Three are Victorian gothic tales. The first of them, The Somnambulist, was shortlisted for the National Book Awards, was featured on Channel 4's Book Show as one of the best reads of 2013, and has now been optioned for TV/film by Hat Trick Productions.

Elijah's Mermaid, features the hypocrisy in Victorian art and literature, and how those worlds sometimes overlapped with the murkier demimonde. There are brothels, asylums, freak shows...and mermaids!

The Goddess and the Thief has been called an "oriental gothic' - with deposed Indian Maharajahs, Hindu gods and sacred diamonds - not to mention the candlelit seances held in English drawing rooms.
