About this author

Growing up in Tennessee, Miranda Kenneally dreamed of becoming an Atlanta Brave, a country singer (cliché!), or a UN interpreter. Instead she writes, and works for the State Department in Washington, D.C., where George W. Bush once used her shoulder as an armrest. Miranda loves Twitter, Star Trek and her husband.

The plot developed as I kept writing in Jordan's voice about how much she loved football and how she wanted to win the State football championship. Then I needed to figure out the worst thing that could happen to Jordan, and I realized it would be having her position taken away from her. And then I decided to up the stakes even more. What if this new player was not only better than Jordan, but also really good looking? I really wanted to shake up Jordan's life! (less)

Topics Mentioning This Author

“Well, you missed out on some important protocol, Ella. You can't stand between a Texan and his power tools. We like them. Big ones that drain the national grid. We also like truck-stop breakfasts, large moving objects, Monday night football, and the missionary position. We don't drink light beer, drive Smart cars, or admit to knowing the names of more than about five or six colors. And we don't wax our chests, ever.”
Lisa Kleypas, Smooth Talking Stranger

"Yeah." He leans closer. "I do.”
