I was born on the prairies of Alberta, Canada to a musician and a music lover. In 1989 I moved to California where I met my husband, Dave, also a music lover and we founded Amoeba Music in 1990 (amoeba.com).
My first YA novel “STILL THERE, CLARE” was published in 2004 by Raincoast books in Vancouver. It was nominated for an IPPY and a RED CEDAR AWARD and it was a 2005 BOOKSENSE PICK.
The Second and third books in the CLARE SERIES, “NOT FAIR, CLARE” and “DOUBLE DARE CARE” were published on 2008. “NOT FAIR, CLARE” was shortlisted for a RED MAPLE AWARD.
My fourth book, “THE VINYL PRINCESS”, about a sixteen-year-old record collector, was published in 2010 by Harper Collins and my fifth book “ALL YOU GET IS ME” will follow in 2011.
