Picture I’m thrilled to be part of the Enchanted Lover: Tales of Everlasting Love boxed set, with Margaret Ethridge, JC Wardon, Jan Scarbrough, JM Kelley, and Cat Shaffer. This wonderfully diverse set of paranormal novels is sure to please. No vampires and no werewolves, but there is magic, ghosts/spirits, mystics, witches, reincarnation, and time-travel. That enough to scratch your paranormal itch?

My book, Entranced, is the lead book in my Sou...

Picture When Almost Magic was with my lovely editor, Karen, I may have gone through about eighty different potential titles for the story. I’d never written paranormal before. I didn’t really know how to capture in just a couple words what was going on in the pages. The problem, I came to realize, was this: I was trying to find a complicated title for a simple premise.

Almost Magic has a good bit of, well…magic. It has witches and ghosts and mystical matchmaking. But it’s not about that.

Picture Paramour was inspired by one of my favorite old movies, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Like Lucy Muir, I fell in love with the ghost of Captain Daniel Gregg. The bit when Anna told her mother that Captain Gregg used to visit her when she was a little girl and they had been friends stuck with me.

How cool would it be to be pals with a ghost? What if she grew up with that ghost in her room. Would she have fallen in love with him like her mother did? I also liked the idea of a tortured you...

PictureWhat I learned writing Timeless Picture I lived in Louisville, Kentucky, April 3, 1974, when the tornado struck the city. That means I lived through what was known the Super Outbreak of 1974 —148 tornadoes that tracked across 13 states between the Gulf Coast and the Canadian Border. The storms took 315 lives while injuring 6,000 more. Two people were killed in Louisville. I was at my mother-in-law’s home when it hit, not in the public high school where I taught. That part of town was devastat...

It was the kind of day you'd soon forget, it was that perfect. You marvel at it in the moment, but it soon slips from your memory because nothing lingers in your mind more consistently than the imperfections that life throws your way. There is little room for the flawless to take root. Picture The morning was cool, not enough so for frost, but just right for breaking out a favorite sweater or jacket. The day warmed fast, and once the sun had enough time to dry the dew on the grass, that sweat...

Because that horse isn't dead, and I need to beat the poor sucker a little more before it finally passes onto that derby track in the sky-I've noticed that pretty muchevery single dating profile proclaims this to be true about each Romeo and every Juliet out there looking for love in all the wrong cyber places:
1. Everyone is laid back and easy-going.
2. We're all athletic and toned. Even the guy balancing a plate of fifty hot wings on his oversized beach ball of a belly.
3. Everyone is, amaz...

Dear Every Man On Every Single Blasted Dating Website Known to Mankind:

Don’t worry. This isn’t a diatribe about the inherent unseemliness of dating websites. I’m not here to judge your desire to find a mate, be it an illicit weekend fling or a forever partner. I get that life is so hectic nowadays that it’s easy to sign up for a dating website. You can reach out even while you’re plugging away at yet another ten hour shift at the workplace from hell. Take a pic, share some thoughts about you...
