About this author

Julie K. Rose is the author of Oleanna and The Pilgrim Glass, historical novels featuring complicated, compelling characters seeking to overcome their pasts—and themselves. Her stories evoke a vivid sense of time and place through a keen ear for dialog and beautifully elegant prose.

A member of the Historical Novel Society and former reviewer for the Historical Novels Review, Julie earned a B.A. in Humanities (SJSU) and an M.A. in English (University of Virginia). She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and multiple rescue cats, and loves reading, following the San Francisco Giants, watching episodes of Doctor Who, and enjoying the amazing natural beauty of Northern California.

Oleanna, short-listed for finalists in the 2011 Faulkner-Wisd

Julianne also recently posted the interview we did about writing historical fiction and the world of OLEANNA.

I hope all of... Read more of this blog post »

Cheryl Thank you, Julie, for sending me a signed copy of your first novel, THE PILGRIM GLASS. The mystery, the setting, and the powers of the glass all predict a favorite read!
