Oh, hello! I'm Ben, Benjamin Joseph Kuniyoshi White if you're not into the whole brevity thing, BJK White if you're somewhere in the middle. I'm sometimes an author person. To get specific, I'm the leastselling author of the Miya Black, Pirate Princess series, as well as the superhero diary of Charlotte Powers, the zombie-infested unlife of Imogen Shroud, the slightly depressing world of Resonance, and a whimsical little book called The Boy & Little Witch.

I live in New Zealand with my super-wife and two busy young daughters, and sometimes I get time to write a bit.

The real problem is that once you get out of the habit of publishing it’s very difficult indeed to get back into that habit.  Just writing stuff and then moving on to the next exciting thing is so much more fun.  Probably part of the problem is a lack of audience, it’s not like anyone is clamouring for my next thing.  I get the same feedback from writing something and setting it aside as I do f...

Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”
Joseph Heller

“You gotta figure out who you can rely on when things've gone past bad. You gotta know who's got your back when the whole damn world's falling apart—and you gotta be the same way for them as they are for you, otherwise it don't mean nothing, you got that? If it ain't both ways it don't mean nothing. I'm talking 'bout them you'd take a bullet for, and them'd do the same for you. Folks you'd die for. Folks who'd die for you. That's who you gotta hold on to. That's who you gotta protect. Everything else, it ain't worth spit. Just them that matter, that's all you gotta think of. Just them that matter.”
Ben White, Charlotte Powers 4: Rising Power

“Time becomes the most precious of all things; the less remains the greater its value.”
Ben White, Power Overwhelming

“It's better to go too far than not far enough.”
Ben White, Power Overwhelming

“When things are at their blackest, I say to myself, 'Cheer up, things could be worse.' And sure enough, they get worse.”
Robert Asprin

“It's supposed to be automatic, but actually you have to push this button. ”
John Brunner, Stand on Zanzibar

“Reputation is what other people know about you. Honor is what you know about yourself.”
Lois McMaster Bujold, A Civil Campaign

“Vimes felt his hand begin to move of its own accord--
And stopped. Red rage froze.
There was The Beast, all around him. And that's all it was. A beast. Useful, but still a beast. You could hold it on a chain, and make it dance, and juggle balls. It didn't think. It was dumb. What you were, what you were, was not The Beast.”
Terry Pratchett, Night Watch

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”
Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt
