As a child, Katharine Schopp spent countless hours lost in the pages of her favorite books. When the books ended, she would miss the characters so much that she'd run to her Mom to ask, "What happens next?" Her Mom would always say, "Whatever you want to happen next will happen next. You can make anything happen, in your imagination." Those words made the budding writer love reading all the more...because now she could control the endings. She went from imagining new endings to books to writing her own stories, poems, and plays. As an adult and third grade teacher, Katharine shared her passion for reading and writing with her students. As a writer, Katharine hopes to provide children with the same thrilling sense of anticipation and escape...more

My 1st book signing

Yesterday I had my first book signing at Coles in the Cambrian Mall, here in my home town of Sault Ste. Marie.
It was a lot of fun.
The manager had set up a big table near the entrance of the store. I was so glad to see that she'd covered the table with a bright red table cloth, as I'd forgotten to bring my table cloth.
