“As I get considerably beyond the biblical allotment of three score years and ten, I feel with increasing intensity that I can express my gratitude for still being around on the oxygen-side of the earth's crust only by not standing pat on what I have hitherto known and loved. While oxygen lasts, there are still new things to love, especially if compassion is a form of love.”

Thanks for accepting my friend request, Sherrida. You seem like an interesting person, so feel free to tell me more about yourself and perhaps we can grow to become even greater friends. I, myself, am a singer/songwriter/actor who has recently turned author, so perhaps we can share books and ideas in the future.Regards, and have a great day, Ed

I know--they all sound so good, and I keep adding more exponentially. Bet I never catch up with myself. But it's fun trying--and some of them will become part of my "mental library," I'm sure. Happy GoodReading!!Sherrida
Sherrida, hello. I love the selection of books that you have on your shelf. You're encouraging me to read faster and catch up. We both love Harper Lee's, To Kill a Mockingbird. I love that book.
Hi Sherrida, Wonderful to know that we share an interest in dogs and Rachel Carson. What a wonderful compliment to your researching skills to have your novel endorsed by Linda Lear!
Hi, Sherrida --Thank you for the friend-vite. It's great connecting with other authors here on GR. I look forward to sharing book notes with you.

It's my pleasure. I look forward to sharing book news with you and enjoying the benefits of GoodReads.
Looks like you're doing some very interesting work, Sherrida. Thanks for including me among your friends. jesse
And to you. This is a wonderful site to connect with people who love books/reading/writing as much as I do. Please keep in touch.
Thank you for the friends add. I have added Quick Fall Of Light to my TBR. I look forward to reading it.
I just might pop in every now and then. I sent for a book from Australia some time back--a book of birds, poetry, I believe. The poet had written of passenger pigeons, a bird I've "brought back from extinction" in a novel, and she sounded as infatuated with them as I am. I wish I could remember her name. . .
Thanks for the 'friendvite' Sherrida. I know you're not an Australian but perhaps out of interest you'd like to visit the group I moderate: Aussie Readers.Cheers
Mandy
Thanks for the add, Sherrida! (Beautiful name, by the way!) I'm looking forward to sifting through your bookshelves and finding more gems to add to my to-read list.
