I penned a Farewell to Death on Demand this spring, but a funny thing happened on the way to Life Without Annie and Max.

A knock on my door. There stood Annie, a glint in her steady gray eyes, a determined tilt to her chin. “What are you thinking?” Max was right behind her, his usual easy going smile absent. “No more island sunshine? No alligators basking on a bank? No more laughter?” Annie and... Read more of this blog post »

More of Carolyn's books…
“At this moment, somewhere in the world, children died of starvation, bombs exploded to maim and kill the innocent, hurricanes destroyed everything in their path, but the loveliness of this moment was as real as wars and plagues and heartbreak. Pleasure and beauty are as valid as pain and ugliness and when I am fortunate enough to enjoy the former, I do so.”
Carolyn Hart, Set Sail for Murder

“Heaven doesn't need dusting. The only tidying that remains is to continue growing in goodness, and goodness knows, for most of us there is always room for improvement.
- Bailey Ruth”
Carolyn Hart, Ghost at Work

“I eased to my feet, making a show of a stiff leg.
She watched with big eyes. “Did you get shot or something?”
“It’s a temporary injury. I pulled a hamstring.” I was fuzzy about hamstrings, but the ailment seemed common for baseball players, though the nearest I’d ever been to a baseball field was watching the 89ers up in Oklahoma City.
“In the line of duty?” Her admiration was evident.
How could I disappoint her and let down the side for the Adelaide Police Department? I gave a modest shrug. “Going over a fence after a Peeping Tom. We got him.”
It was a nice note for my departure.”
Carolyn Hart, Ghost Gone Wild
